Balsam Knits was planted and is growing on The Unceded Territory of The Algonquin Anishnaabeg on Turtle Island. This area, colonized by mostly white European settlers, is currently known as Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA.

Laura Twiss, Creative Director of Balsam Knits, acknowledges the history and impact of colonization on Indigenous peoples and their lands. This recognition acknowledges the sovereignty and rights of Indigenous communities and contributes to working towards reconciliation and decolonization efforts.
